Flomaton police ID 'stoned' suspect on the Internet; search finds drugs, three arrested
A Facebook post Tuesday morning of a Century man who appeared to be high on drugs sent Flomaton police to a Martin Luther King Drive residence that ended with three people in jail on multiple drug charges that included methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana and Ecstasy.
Flomaton police reported seeing the Facebook page that showed Jermaine Smith appearing very disoriented with a voice saying he was on 'Dotchie'. Police noted Smith was wanted on a failure to appear warrant and identified the video coming from 220 Martin Luther King Drive in Flomaton.
Search warrants were obtained and officers arrived at the Flomaton address about 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Arrested were Smith, 32, 9410 Old Flomaton Road, Century; Apollonia Burt, 30, 13 George Ave., Century and Michael Brown, 32, 862 Valley Ridge Drive, Pensacola. Police noted the addresses listed were last known addresses for the suspects.
All three were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance; meth, crack, hydrocodone, synthetic marijuana (spice), and Ecstasy, along with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Brown was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana I.
Police reported that after viewing the Facebook post they determined Smith was under the influence of a drug and he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
When police arrived at 220 Martin Luther King Drive, they made contact with Burt, who said Smith was inside the home. A search warrant was then obtained. Police entered the home and found the illegal drugs along with baggies and scales associated with drugs.
Police also noted a fourth suspect has been identified and another arrest is forthcoming.
