Twyla Watkins Watson

Twyla Watkins Watson, 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018.

Mrs. Watson was born Nov. 25, 1945, to Jim Tim, Sr. and Louise Jordan Watkins. She joined Fannie Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and moved to Lompoc, Calif. when she got married. A member of the 1965 graduating class of Southern Normal School, she worked as a chef for 26 years in the military at Vandenburg Air Force Base.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Fannie Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Hiriam Stanton officiating. Burial followed at Fanny and Damascus Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dave Watson; her children, Terrance (Carla) Watson, Benita Faye Watson of West Richland, Wash., Pamela W. Watson and Stephanie Watson of Lompoc; two sisters, Geneva Watkins of Pittsburg, Pa. and Celia Ann Watkins of Flomaton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces cousins and friends.

Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Hugh B. Watkins and Jim Tim Watkins, Jr.
