Janice Bryant Barden, 61, of Citronelle, Ala., died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at Mobile Infirmary from complications related to cancer.
Mrs. Barden was born to John Houston, Sr. and Claudean Prescott Bryant of Fayetteville, Ark. A graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor of arts in agricultural engineering, she was employed by Zimlich The Florist in Mobile for 20 years. Later developing her own business, JBBandFlowers, she created floral designs for wedding receptions that were featured in magazines.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, at First Baptist Church of Atmore with Rev. Clay Lewis officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Barden is survived by her husband, Douglas E. Barden; one brother, John H. (Shannon) Bryant, Jr. of Belle Vista, Ark.; one sister, Lynn (Paul) Courson of Lake Village, Ark.; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.
Mrs. Barden was preceded in death by her parents; and numerous family members.
