Auditions for the 2019 production of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' play in Monroeville will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13 at Brewton City Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Auditions will also be held in Monroeville from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Monroe County Schools System's gymatorium at the former Monroe County Middle School location at 109 Pickens St.
Actors will be asked to read from the script and they will not need a prepared monologue, according to official. Officials also emphasize that experience is not a necessary requirement.
Officials of The Mockingbird Company recently announced that Kathy McCoy, former executive director of the Monroe County Heritage Museum, will direct the play this year. She served as the play's director for many years before accepting the position of executive director and artistic director of the Pell Center in Pell City, Ala.

Aaron Sorkin's new adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird was a big hit on Broadway in December, raking in $1.58 million, which is the best single week earnings for a non-musical in the 118 year existence of Broadway.
The show opened the week prior to solid reviews and amassed over $22 million in advance sales.
