Last Monday, Century area residents gathered following the parade motorcade’s return to the Century Community Center on Highway 4 to pay homage to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., whose birthday is celebrated annually to renew his vision of racial harmony and equality.
Guests were welcomed and various community religious leaders lead prayers and read scriptures, followed by song and celebration. The event was sponsored by the Century-Flomaton Improvement Association.
Guest speaker Cameron Cunningham from Cinncinati, Ohio spoke about the life and dreams of Dr. King and guests were invited to refreshments afterward.
