Cecil Wesley Blackwell, 87, of Repton, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, after an extended illness.
Mr. Blackwell was a native of Repton and lifelong resident of Conecuh County who was a retired carpenter. A U.S. Army veteran, he was of the Baptist faith.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Bros. Jason Blackwell and Duke Bradley officiating. Burial followed with military honors at the Range Cemetery in the Range community with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Blackwell is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bobbie Mosley Blackwell; two sons, Jason (Tiffany) Blackwell of Repton and Larry (Sharon) Stewart of Lottie, Ala.; five daughters, Gail (Elliott) Fails of Excel, Karen McKinley of Monroeville, Janet Flowers of Riverdale, N.J., Sheila (Kenny) Andrews of Excel and Rita (Steve) White of Perdido; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lillie Mae Stacey Blackwell; four brothers, William “Buddy” Blackwell, Lanier Blackwell, Mason Blackwell and Raphael Blackwell; two sisters, Florene Knowles and Gladys Knowles; and one grandchild.
