Flomaton High School captured the first place trophy at the Coastal Alabama Community College Michael Tedder Mathematics Tournament, held on Thursday, January 24, on the Brewton campus.
Eight high schools and a total of 196 students participated in the day-long event. Teams competed for trophies and awards on a thirty-five-question exam and sixteen “quick answer” cipher questions.
Michael Tedder, retired mathematics and physics instructor for the College and founder of the tournament over thirty years ago, was on hand to award the top ten performing students medals and team trophies.
