James Lewis Kyles, 73, died Monday, March 25, 2019. Mr. Kyles was born Dec. 13, 1935, to Adam and Nancy Kyles in Franklin, Ala. He was a member of Harris Street A.O.H. Church, where he served as a Deacon and he enjoyed fishing and other hobbies.The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 30, at Empowerment Tabernacle in Atmore with Bishop Quillas Mitchell officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Kyles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Orie Sims Kyles; three sons, Eddie (Jean) Kyles, Jimmy (Gloria) Kyles and Patrick (Shaqunia) Kyles and Christopher (Kim) Fears of Moss Point, Miss., all of Atmore; three daughters, Gloria Pugh. Shirley Kyles Hubert and Angela (Arthur) Polston, all of Atmore; one brother, Leroy Kyles; two sisters, Mary Alice Peavy and Jane Alice Kyles; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.
Mr. Kyles was preceded in death by three children, James Kyles, Jr., Tommy Kyles and Teresa Fountain; his parents; six brothers, Willie Kyles, A.C. Kyles, John Kyles, Peter Kyles, Eddie Lee Kyles and Leonard Kyles; and two sisters, Josephine Finkley and Georgia Mae Shower.
