Preston “Shorty” Hardy, 90, of Flomaton, died Sunday, March 31, 2019.
Mr. Hardy was a native of Alpine, Ala. And a member of the Flomaton community since 1957, coming from Sylacauga, Ala. Working as an EMT for Escambia County, Fla. and operater of Hardy's Union '76 Service Station for a number of years, he was a member of the Flomaton Volunteer Fire Department, the Alabama Sheriff's Office and a volunteer ambulance driver, he was of the Methodist faith and a member Risers Chapel Methodist Church.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Tew officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley Ann Smith Hardy of Flomaton; one son, Michael Preston Hardy of Flomaton; one daughter, Cynthia (Larry) Jeona of Columbus, Miss.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, family members and friends.
Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Susie Pannell Hardy.
