Joseph “Hugh” Westbrook of Havana, Fla., formerly of Atmore, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
Mr. Westbrook was born Sept. 6, 1952 to Frank and Mae Baker. He worked as a truck driver for more than 20 years, which allowed him to see much of the United States and Canada. For a brief period of time, he worked as a corrections officer in Florida and Alabama.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at Petty Funeral Home with Bro. James Gentry officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery with Petty Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Westbrook is survived by one son, Bentley Westbrook; two daughters, Tabitha and Emily; four brothers, Frank, Thomas, Samuel and Curley; four sisters, Dorothy, Patty, Patsy and Joanie; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.
Mr. Westbrook was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Westbrook; his son, Joseph “Skipper” Westbrook; his biological parents; his adoptive parents, J.B. and Mary Westbrook; two brothers, George Baker and James Edward “Chip” Jeffords; and two sisters, Karen Hall and Teresa Jeffords.
