Hurricane girls' 4X100 relay team heads to Cullman
Flomaton High School's girls' four by 100-meter relay team is headed to the state track meet this weekend after finishing fifth and qualifying during this past Saturday's finals at the sectional meet held at T.R. Miller High School in Brewton.
The team of Jayla Williams, Briana Stuckey, Malin White and Trinidy White covered the 400 meters in :56.46 at the sectional meet.
"Just wow," is how Coach Karl Smith explained the team earning a spot in the state meet. "I'm proud for them and what they've accomplished. I told them now it's time to let it loose. This is the big show."
The state track meet will be held Friday and Saturday at Cullman High School. The preliminary round for the four by 100 will be held at 10:40 a.m. The gun will start the finals at 10:50 a.m. Saturday.
