Betty Jean Hardaway, 60, died Thursday, May 2, 2019.
Mrs. Thames-Hardaway was born July 25, 1959 to Jimmy Miims and Claudia Bee North. Raised in the Walnut Hill community, she moved to Crestview, Fla. with her husband and joined Christ at the Church Body of Christ Church. Relocating back to Walnut Hill in 2006, she joined Walnut Hill Church of God under Pastor Danny Fountain. She was a friend to all who knew her.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 10, at House of Prayer with Bishop Darryl North officiating. Burial followed at New Saint Paul Baptist Church with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Thames-Hardaway is survived by one son, Kenneth (Tongee) Thames of Walnut Hill; one daughter, Naneaka (CL) McQueen of Crestview;s one brother, Jimmy Mims, Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.
Mrs. Thames-Hardaway was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Thames; her parents; and one brother, Willie North.
