Harlon Vaughn Ard, 58, of the Appleton community, died Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Castleberry.
Mr. Ard was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton who was a member of W.S. Neal High School class of 1979. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked for Southern Pine Electric Cooperative as an equipment operator and attended the Appleton Assembly of God Church.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 6, at the Appleton Assembly of God Church with Bros. Russ McDonald, Timothy McDonald and David K. Baggett officiating. Burial followed at Cooper Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mr. Ard is survived by his wife, Rosemary Bodiford Ard of Brewton; three sons, Kevin (Lena) Ard, Patrick Ard and Andrew Chavers, all of Brewton; three daughters, Ashley Chavers, and Kaylee Ard, both of Brewton, and Amanda Chavers of Mobile; five brothers, Buck Ard and Douglas Ard, both of Brewton, Dwayne Ard and Donnie Ard, both of Alabama and Ronnie Ard of Tennessee; four sisters, Renea Kates and Peggy Kates, both of Milton, Ann Baggett of Brewton and Glenda Hartley of Tuscaloosa; one grandchild; and numerous other family members and friends.
Mr. Ard was preceded in death by one daughter, Tamara Marie Ard; his parents, Robert and Jeanette Cain Ard; one sister, Nell Ard; and other family members.
