For decades after WWII, the Golden State led the country in innovation, prosperity, and progress toward the good life. California set the pace for everything and everyone wanted to go to California. But sadly affluence and apathy allowed absurdity to overtake the culture. The liberal notion that everything that feels good is good took hold because it seemed there were no consequences for overindulgence or decadent destructive behavior. The glitz and glamour of Hollywood and Silicon Valley hid the ugly truth.
With over one fifth of America’s homeless, California is home to the incredibly poor and the ridiculously rich. Decades of progressive policies have been steadily eviscerating the middle class. California is so expensive; only billionaires and those on government assistance can afford to live there. Working Americans are being squeezed out and with them traditional values. Any whiff of morality is under assault and even being made illegal.
California’s leaders spout an overabundance of bovine scatology about equality and tolerance. Their vision of progressive paradise pretty much condones any indulgence or perversion you can imagine, but make no mistake, their target is Christianity. The idiots in California’s ivory towers are determined to push out God and place themselves as the arbiters of morality.
The most recent lunacy from the land of fruit and nuts is Assembly Concurrent Resolution 99 (ACR 99) which demands "counselors, pastors, religious workers, educators" and institutions with "great moral influence" to stop perpetuating the idea that something is wrong with LGBTQ identities or sexual behavior. ACR 99 also condemns attempts to change unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion as "unethical," "harmful," and leading to higher rates of suicide. The intent is to stop any clergy in California from saying homosexuality is a sin.
Aside from the obvious attack on free speech and freedom of religion, this is a huge disservice to the LGBTQ community if not an actual death sentence. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), LGBTQ adults are more than twice as likely as heterosexual adults to experience a mental health condition. High school students who identify as LGBTQ are almost five times as likely to attempt suicide compared to their heterosexual peers. And 48% of all transgender adults report that they have considered suicide in the past 12 months, compared to 4% of the overall US population.
Liberal geniuses insist the higher propensity for mental illness and suicide among LGBTQ is because Christianity calls their destructive behavior a sin. Therefore, Christian clergy should be silenced for being hateful. With any destructive behavior like addiction or adultery, the real problem is separation from God. We are all sinners and subject to temptation, but only through Jesus Christ can we face and conquer temptation.
The California nimrods erroneously claim all the LGBTQ angst and turmoil will evaporate if Christians will just contradict God and bless their sins. Whether clean needles or government approval of homosexuality, the problem is it leaves the sinner alone and separated from God. We are free to choose, so many will eschew the forgiveness and healing of Christ. But the California Assembly wants to deprive those that are seeking relief the only solution that works. Those that subscribe to LGBTQ will never cease to exist, but to deny them every alternative to deal with their demons is cruel and merciless.
In the bigger picture, LGBTQ folks are just pawns in the relentless liberal crusade to supplant God. Christianity is anathema to socialism and liberal utopia, so the real goal is to silence clergy and ultimately outlaw Christianity or at least make it ineffective or unrecognizable. If the Bible can be rendered hate speech and God sidelined, the path for government to become god will be cleared.
ACR 99 and all the LGBTQ controversy is a sideshow. Homosexuality is no worse than any other sin; it is just most prominent because it seeks societal acceptance. So liberals are using it to declare morality obsolete and God irrelevant. This is not about LGBTQ, but rather about getting average Americans to pitch their tents towards Sodom. California is still leading, but they are leading us away from God and certain doom.
