Dorothy Dean “Dot” Elder, 77, of Brewton, died Saturday, July 6, 2019 in a Pensacola hospital.
Mrs. Elder was born in Range, Ala. and was a long-time resident of Escambia County, Ala. Of the Holiness faith and a member of Wild Fork Holiness Church, she had worked as a cook at W.S. Neal High School and Pollard McCall Junior High School.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Rev. Barbara Pugh and Rev. John Cardwell officiating. Burial followed at Canaan Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Elder is survived by one son, Eugene (Margie) Quick of Brewton; one daughter, Brenda (Bo) Weaver of Brewton; one brother, Wayne (Tammy) Bell; one sister, Sis (Luther) Baker of Indiana; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Elder was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Maggie Johnson Bell.
