Bessie Wilma Chavers, 80, of Brewton, died Friday, July 12, 2019, in a Mobile hospital.
Mrs. Chavers was a native of Escambia County, Ala., born the eleventh of thirteen children to Dennis and Bessie Baker Cain.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Dennis and Bro. Clinton Buchanan officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Chavers is survived by one son, Robert (Kathie) Chavers of Frisco City; two daughters, Rachel (John) Madden and Helen (Claude) Jackson, both of Brewton; one sister, Betty Faye (Buford) Madden of Castleberry; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other family members.
Mrs. Chavers was preceded in death by her husband, Derry Z. Chavers; her parents; five brothers, Leo Cain, Burns Cain, Dennis Earl Cain, Chester Cain and Ray Cain; six sisters, Eula Mae Pugh, Pearline McCall, Ophelia Chavers, Esther Stacey, Valera Cain, and Barbara Ruth Cain; and one grandchild.
