Clarence Ray Langham

Clarence Ray Langham, 87, died Saturday, July 20, 2019.

Mr. Langham was born Aug. 23, 1931, to Clarence Lee and Beatrice Jernigan Langham in Appleton, Ala. A graduate of T.R. Miller High School Class of 1947, where he was an exceptional football player, he served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with 187th Airborne Regiment Combat Team that invaded Korea in 1952. Upon returning to the U.S., he attended Troy State University and later became proprietor of Ray's Cleaners in Brewton for 45 years. A member of both the Kiwanis Club and Community of Christ Church, where he served as elder and pastor since 1972, he was active in his community.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, at Community of Christ Church with Evangelist Gary Howard, Elder Wayne Morris and Rev. Bobby Ellisor officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Langham is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brantley Langham; one son, Keith Langham of New York City, N.Y.; one daughter, Nancy Langham (Terry) Lewis of Birmingham; one brother, Charle Jay Langham of Jay, Fla.; two sisters, Faye Langham Butts and Paula Langham (Jimmy) Terrell, both of Brewton; and numerous nephews and nieces.
