Muriel Erlean Philyaw, 61, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in Atmore.
Mrs. Philyaw was a native of Atmore who resided in the Canoe, Wawbeek, Ala.area for most of her life. A former employee at Vanity Fair as a seamstress, she was a partner of Finley’s Gas Station and worked as a CNA at Atmore Nursing Care and sitting with the elderly.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 27, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Malcolm Harrelson officiatng. Burial followed at Canoe Free Will Baptist Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Philyaw is survived by one son, William L. Rigby, III, of Daphne, Ala.; two daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Taylor of Forest, Miss. and Shirley (Brian) Adkison of Goodway, Ala.; two brothers, Edward “Buck” Wilson of Crestview, Fla. and Bennie (Cathy) Wilson of Milton; one sister, Jeanette Quick of Century; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Philyaw was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Edward Philyaw; her parents, Olbren Wilson and Jessie Swindle; one brother, Dudley Wilson; and one sister, Marie Booth.
