Tommy Roy Finklea, 62, died Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Atmore Community Hospital.
Mr. Finklea was born April 1, 1957, in Wilcox County, Ala. and was baptized in Gravel Creek in Canden, Ala. A member of Second Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church in Atmore, he was employed as a professional painter and enjoyed painting cars.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Monday, July 15, at Second Mt. Triumph Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Joe L. Hayes officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Finklea is survived by his wife, Shelly Hawthorne Finklea; his mother, Climmie Edwards of New York; his children, Derrick (Michaela) Hawthorne of South Carolina, Tracey (Tracy) Craft of Atmore, Anita Crook and Stacey Thomas, both of Bay Minette, Chrystal Colman of New Your and Climmie Jackson of Baldwin County; four brothers, Charles Phillips and Clyde Edwards, both of New York, Ricky Phillips of Detroit and Christopher Edwards of Georgia; four sisters, Carolyn (Charles) Scott and Barbara Finklea, both of Florida, and Cydell (Auddie) Simmons and Constance (Clarence) Edwards of New York; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Finklea was preceded in death by one daughter, Monique Hawthorne; and one brother, Robert (Geraldine) Phillips.
