Flomaton police jail four for drugs

Suspects are arrested for meth and spice

A warrant service, traffic stop and a check on a suspicious vehicle by Flomaton police led to the arrest of four people on drug charges.

At 9:18 p.m. on Aug. 8, Capt. Chance Thompson and Officers Isaac Lopez and Dane Nesmith went to 293 Mize Road to serve a failure to appear warrant issued against Jonathan Rabon on previous charges of assault and eluding police.

Rabon, 37, was taken into custody without incident. According to police, while Rabon was being transported, Officer Lopez made contact with Nakisha Dawn Hadley, 30, also of 293 Mize Road, and noticed a partially-smoked cigarette by the chair that was identified as spice. Police also found another spice cigarette and pipes inside the home.

Rabon and Hadley were both charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (spice) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton and jailed on $5,000 bond.

Traffic stop

A Monroeville man pulled over on Aug. 11 for having no tag was jailed on drug charges after methamphetamine was found in his possession.

Justin Blake Felts, 29, 1375 Felts Road, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (meth) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to reports, Capt. Thompson initiated the stop at 7:50 p.m. on Old Fannie Road when he observed a vehicle with no tag. He reported seeing multiple open containers of alcohol, that included beer and alcohol inside the vehicle.

Thompson reported finding a cigarette carton that contained meth in Felts' front right pants pocket. He also reported finding numerous glass pipes with burnt residue, scales and a butane lighter inside the vehicle.

Felts was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center and jailed on $5,000 bond.

Suspicious vehicle

At 11:52 p.m. on Aug. 11, Capt. Thompson got out to check on a suspicious vehicle with no lights showing parked at the Frank P. 'Skippy' White South Bridge on Highway 31 and made contact with the driver, identified at Johnathan Boutwell, 40, 107 Swift St., Atmore.

Thompson reported Boutwell was sweating profusely and acting as if he was on some type of substance.

After getting Boutwell out of the vehicle Thompson reported finding a pipe, that tested positive for meth, in Boutwell's pocket.

Boutwell was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (meth) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed on $5,000 bond.
