School board approves changes

In an emergency meeting Friday afternoon, the Escambia County (Ala.) School Board voted to accept the resignation of an Escambia County Middle School teacher and accepted the retirement letter from the assistant principal at W.S. Neal Middle School.

Superintendent John Knott told board members they were key positions and that the board needed to begin advertising for those positions immediately.

The board accepted the resignation of Steven Bartlett, a teacher at Escambia County Middle School, effective Aug. 19 and the retirement of Donald E. Hardyman, assistant principal at W.S. Neal Middle School, effective Oct. 1.

With no other items on the emergency agenda, the meeting was adjourned.
