Job fair shows employment is available for all

Need a job? Want a job? There are jobs available. Escambia County Commissioner Karean Reynolds of Atmore partnered with Atlas Industrial Outsourcing to hold a job fair this past Monday at Atmore City Hall. Some 150 people showed up and many of those will receive jobs if they pass the screening process by the Atlas staff.

Reynolds said those selected will be trained by Atlas staff for a variety of jobs in industrial plants and manufacturing facilities. Due to the high turnout at the job fair, Reynolds said Atlas has agreed to provide the specialized training in the Atmore area.

We read this to mean if you want a job, have a good work ethic and are willing to do what it takes, there is a job out there waiting for you.

A real good sign to us was the number of people who showed up at the job fair to either get a job or to seek a better paying job. As Reynolds said, it showed that the Atmore area has a large available workforce that's willing to step up and take advantage of opportunities when they are available.

But these opportunities are not limited to the Atmore area. They are available for anyone who wants to take that first step and find a good job.

We don't know if there will be another job fair or not sponsored by Atlas, but people can still apply for such positions at the website http://www.atlas-outsourcing.com.

If you need more information or have questions, contact Atlas' Human Resource Director James McLaughlin at 251-800-9901, extension 1003.

We also thank Commissioner Reynolds for taking the project on to help our communities.
