Century man faces 15 years

A Century man who was arrested March 28 when officers executing a search warrant found suspected methamphetamine in bags on the floor when they secured him and floating in the toilet is facing 15 years in state prison as a mandatory minimum that must be served day for day.

Sim Brown, III, 24, 401 Bonwell St., entered a plea to one count of trafficking in methamphetamine (200 grams or more), three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by convicted felon and possession of a short-barreled shotgun, according to a state attorney's press release Friday.

Charges arose after officers gained entrance to the residence and located Brown in the bathroom attempting to flush bags down the toilet and placed the defendant on the ground where several small bags of methamphetamine fell. There is no parole in Florida, according to a state attorney's press release.

A search of the residence found half a kilo of methamphetamine, cocaine, spice and marijuana. Two firearms were also located inside the residence, including an illegal short-barreled shotgun.
