Harold D. Neighbors, 84, died Saturday, August 24, 2019, in Atmore.
Mr. Neighbors was born in North Texas, grew up in the Houston area, and lived in California for 60 before before relocating to Atmore, where he had resided the past 22 years. A U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korea and Vietnam Wars, he was a retired production supervisor from Chevron Oil Company with 37 years of service.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 31, at Mennonite Christian Fellowship in Atmore with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Neighbors is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ethel “Bonnie” Neighbors of Atmore; three sons, Christopher Allen (Hannah) Neighbors of Atmore, Steven Neighbors of Dallas, Texas and Craig Neighbors of California; six daughters, Vickie Lynn (Marti) Schlom of Huntingdon Beach, Calif., Kathy Neighbors of Dallas, Brenda Lee (Jeff) Leong and Heather Monique (Brian) Gutknecht, both of Upland, Calif., Tina Sue Brand of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. and Felicia Rebecca Neighbors of Atmore; one brother, Johnnie Neighbors of Tyler, Texas; one sister, Linda Neighbors of Houston; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
