James Earl Moye, 80, of Foley, died Thursday, August 22, 2019.
Mr. Moye was born on Moyeville, Ala. and had been a resident of Foley since 2005. Of the Baptist faith, he worked as a welder in the construction industry and was instrumental in the construction of the paper mill in Brewton, as well as other locations. He was employed by MacMillan-Bloedel in Pine Hill, Ala. for several years and was an avid fisherman.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 24, at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Bro. J. Heath Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Catawba Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Moye is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Moye of Foley; one son, Mitchell Earl (Cindy) Moye of Milton; one daughter, Janie Elizabeth Walls of Jay; one brother, Charles Harold Moye of Decatur, Ala.; one sister, Hazel Ruth Pearson of Monroeville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mr. Moye was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Joseph and Rosie Mae Sanspree Moye; six brothers, Alvin Moye, Bradley Moye, Gladden Moye, Robert Moye, Hugo Moye and Roy Moye; five sisters, Daisy Childress, Addielean Daniels, Willie Lou Finlay, Ernestine Staehlin and Estelle Parker; and other extended family members.
