Barbara Lindsey Stokes, 84, died Tuesday, August 27, 2019, in Jay.
Mrs. Stokes was a native of Bay Minette, Ala. and former resident of Pensacola until 1982 who relocated to Century, where she had lived the past 36 years. Of the Methodist faith, she was a retired operations leader from Monsanto Corporation with 38 years of service.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 31, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Bay Minette Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Stokes is survived by one son, Otto (Karen) Stokes, III, of Pensacola; two daughters, Barbara Ann Flowers of Pensacola and Ruby Patricia Tolbert of Brewton; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Stokes, Jr.; her parents, Lee and Ruby Lindsey; two sons, Robert Earl Gafford and J.W. (Dubbs) Gafford.
