Robert Winther, 93, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, in Brewton after a chronic illness.
Mr. Winther was born Oct. 25, 1925, to Holger and Rhoda Winther in Fremont, Neb. A 20-year U.S. Navy Veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, his awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. He retired from the Civil Service.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 9, with full military honors, at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Dr. James Meadows officiating. Burial followed with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Winther is survived by his wife, Elsie; his step-children, Wayne (Sandra) Nall, Larry (Rhonda) Nall and Cynthia Nall; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
