Rev. James Edwin Pugh, Jr., 77, of Flomaton, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at the Century Health and Rehabilitation Center in Century.
Rev. Pugh was a native of Columbus, Miss., and had been a member of the Flomaton community since 1982, coming from Mississippi. A graduate of Mississippi College with a Bachelor's Degree and New Orlean's Baptist Theological Seminary, he was of the Southern Baptist faith, and a member of New Beginnings Church in Atmore.
The funeral was held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7, at Flomaton First Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Tew officiating. Burial followed at Poplar Dell Church Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
Rev. Pugh is survived by his wife, Martha Pugh of Flomaton; one son, James Edwin (Nicole) Pugh, III of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; one daughter, Rebecca Cleo (Ed) Cahill of Milton, Fla; his mother, Edna Rebecca Pugh of Bay Springs, Miss; three brothers, David (Beverly) Pugh of Gautier, Miss., Ray (Debbo) Pugh of Louin, Miss., John (Barbara) Pugh of Sylvarena, Miss.; three sisters, Mary Smith of Bay Springs, Miss., Dora Chatam of Birmingham, Ala., Rachel (Donn) Jackson of Archdele, N.C.; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rev. Pugh was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharron Denise Pugh; his father, James Edwin Pugh, Sr.; and one sister, Rebecca Irby.
