Stanley Ray “Papa Smurf” Boutwell, Sr., 57, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, in Pollard, Ala.
Mr. Boutwell was a native of Atmore who had resided in Pollard for most of his life. He was of the Baptist faith.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Malcolm Harrelson officiating. Burial followed at Traveler's Rest Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Boutwell is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara A. Boutwell of Pollard; one son, Stanley Ray Boutwell, Jr. of Jay, Fla.; three daughters, Carolyn (Gary) Scott of Jay, Stephanie (Ryan) Alldaffer of Flomaton and Tiffany Garcia of McAllen, Texas; his mother, Nancy Boutwell of Atmore; four brothers, Jimmy (Rhonda) Boutwell of Canoe, Randy Boutwell of Flomaton, Todd Boutwell of Atmore and Shawn (Angelia) Boutwell of Evergreen; two sisters, Vickie (Eddie) Wright of Atmore and Candy (James) Wright of Brewton; 17 grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.
Mr. Boutwell was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Boutwell, Jr.; one brother, Dean Boutwell; and two grandchildren.
