RR Junction Day is on tap for Saturday

Car show, Corn Hole tournament and plenty of arts, crafts and food coming to Flomaton

More than 45 vendors, multiple antique cars and barbecue will be seen and smelled in downtown Flomaton this Saturday for the annual Railroad Junction Day that will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

New to the festival will be a Corn Hole tournament sponsored by the Flomaton Lions Club and the Flomaton Area Chamber of Commerce. Entry fee for the tournament is $20 for a two-person team and the tournament will be limited to 16 teams on a first come, first served basis. Teams can begin registering at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Lions Club booth which will be located between the stage and the library. The tournament will begin at noon. Cash prizes for the winners will be awarded.

The registration for the car show is $25. The car show begins at 9 a.m. and awards will be given out at 2 p.m.

The Friendship Volunteer Fire Department will also be on hand selling Boston Butts for $30 and slabs of ribs for $25. Although the pre-order deadline has passed the fire department said it has plenty of butts and ribs for sale during the day.

Entertainment will fill the stage beginning with the Flomaton High School horn ensemble at 9 a.m. followed by Cierra White and bluegrass music. Southern Approach will hit the stage at 12 noon and play until 3 p.m.

From pony rides to great food, arts and crafts and more, Railroad Junction Day will have something for people of all ages. There will also be a model train display inside the air conditioned Flomaton Town Hall.
