Ernestine Daughtry, 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019, in Poarch, Ala.
Mrs. Daughtry was a native and lifelong resident of Poarch, where she served on the Tribal Council for more than 17 years. A homemaker, she was a member of the housing board in Poarch for more than 10 years.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at McCullough Christian Center with Father Mike Hill and Bro. Fred Ray Ward officiating. Burial followed at Judson Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Funeral Chapel Home directing.
Mrs. Daughtry is survived by two sons, Jack Allen (Charlotte) McGhee of Pensacola and Douglas Charles Daughtry of Poarch; two daughters, Jackie Smith and Charlotte (Martin) Merkel, both of Poarch, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.
Mrs. Daughtry was preceded in death by her husband, D.C. Daughtry; her parents, Dan and Lena Jackson McGhee; one brother, Howard Dan McGhee; and one sister, Inez Daughtry.
