Freddie T. Amerson, 88, of Cantonment, formerly of Bratt, Fla., died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 in Cantonment.
Mrs. Amerson was born August 3, 1931, to Fred and Isabelle Roberts Tyre in White Springs, Fla. She was employed with Vanity Fair, as a restaurant worker and then later retired as a school bus driver for Escambia County (Fla.) School District. She was a member of Pine Barren Baptist Church, where she ministered in local nursing homes.
The funeral was held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 23, at Bratt-Godwin Cemetery with Bro. Mike Harper officiating. Burial followed with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Amerson is survived by one son, Cliff Amerson of Bratt; three daughters, Margaret (Sambo) Garrett of Bay Springs, Fla., Gwen (David) Johnson of Cantonment and Becky (Tim) Drone of Milton, Fla.; two sisters, Vivian (Gene) Vogan of Crescent City, Fla. and Delores Cowan of Buford, Ga.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Amerson was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Martin Vanis Rosier; and one brother, Raymond Cecil Tyre.
