Marcus Dewayne Mitchell, 63, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, in Nokomis, Ala.
Mr. Mitchell was a lifelong resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. A disabled veteran of the U. S. Army, he was a member of the Poarch Creek Band of Indians.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Malcolm Harrelson officiating. Burial followed at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by one son, Douglas Mitchell of Lottie, Ala.; one daughter, Elizabeth (Andrew) Daughtery of Atmore; three brothers, Mervin (Marsha) Gibson of Walnut Hill, Riley (Jean) Mitchell of Harold, Fla. and Malcolm (Vanessa) Mitchell of Leaksville, Miss.; two sisters, Susie (Gilbert) McCann of McCullough, Ala, and Michelle (Kookie) Ivey of Nokomis; one grandchild; and other numerous family members.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Vaden Gibson Mitchell.
