Walter Johnson, Jr., 60, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019.
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 12, 1959 in Atmore. A graduate of Rock Island High School, in Rock Island, Illinois, he was employed for many years with John Deere. A member of the Second Baptist Church in Rock Island, he became a member of the New Order Missionary Baptist Church when he relocated to Atmore and later joined Emanuel's Faith Center.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at Emanuel's Faith Center with Bishop Wayne and Elect Lady Rhonda Johnson and Elder Ledell and Sister Bridget Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Stallworth Cemetery with Christian memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Cynthia Collins Johnson; one son, Walter Johnson, III; his parents, Walter and Johnnie Mae Johnson; one brother, Bruce Johnson; one sister, Kim Lorraine; one grandchild; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousin, and many other family members and friends.
