Four jailed in Atmore drug bust

Officers find heroin, meth, pills and pot

Three Atmore residents and one Bay Minette resident were arrested Friday after multiple law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at an Atmore residence that turned up methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, prescription pills and numerous drug paraphernalia.

Agents with the Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force and the U.S. Marshal Task Force, assisted by the Atmore Police Department, executed the search warrant Oct. 18 at 517 East Oak Street.

Arrested at the scene were Christian James Shenk, 48, 1852 Sardis Church Road, Atmore; Michael Wayne Barnhill, 55, 517 East Oak St., Atmore; Dana Marie Harrison, 42, 517 East Oak St., Atmore; and Syndle M. Vinson, 33, 11248 Quinley Road, Bay Minette.

Shenk was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (meth) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Barnhill was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (meth), unlawful possession drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana II. Harrison was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (heroin), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana II. Vinson was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (prescription pills), unlawful possession of a controlled substance (heroin) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three suspects were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton and received a $25,000 bond each.

Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks said the arrests were a combined effort of multiple law enforcement agencies.

"It's going along with an aggressive stand to investigate and combat illegal drugs in our community," Brooks said.
