Another Atmore man arrested for violating state's notification act
One Atmore man was arrested and another sentenced to 15 years and a day for violating Alabama's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act for failing to properly register with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on address changes.
Frederick Allen Barkley, 58, 58 Edgewood Court, Atmore, was sentenced to 15 years and a day on Oct. 22 in prison in Escambia County County Circuit Court.
According to sheriff's office reports, Barkley was arrested in August, 2017, for failure to report for quarterly registration during the month of July, 2017. Barkley failed to obtain an identification card or driver's license issued by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency with the criminal sex offender designation displayed.
Roger Hall, 36, 108 Liberty St., Atmore, was arrested Oct. 21 for violating the conditions of the registration act.
According to sheriff's office reports he was convicted on Sept. 13, 2004 for rape II in Escambia County, Ala. As part of the conviction he was required to register as an adult sex offender. The report said Hall reported for quarterly registration on April 25, 2019, but failed to report, as required, during the month of July in 2019.
