The Sunshine Report

I trust you are having a great week.

I am working on a new book on developing and building social capital and ran across this in my data base. I thought it might be something that you would enjoy. Thank you for being my internet friend…wish we had a time and place to get to know each other better. Enjoy.

A Friend

A friend is a person who reaches out for your hand and instead touches your heart.

A friend is a person whose major concern is what can be brought to the relationship… not what can be taken from it.

A friend will ask you only to be what you really are - nothing more… nothing less.

A friend will not create a need on your part to be on guard: you can breathe easy – for your deepest secrets are safe.

A friend will let you say what you think, so long as it is genuinely you.

A friend understands those quirks in your nature that causes others to misjudge you… for a friend looks at your faults with their eyes shut.

A friend will let you be yourself… you can do anything, everything or nothing, and still have a great time together.

A friend is someone who steps in to hold you up when you are going down.

A friend appreciates when you weep, and when you laugh, and when you may be less than your best self.

A friend will treat you as if you are what you ought to be, and strive to bring out the best in you – the best no one else has taken the time to help you find.

A friend knows you better than anyone else. Your soul can go naked with a friend and underneath it all a friend sees and knows -- and still desires to be around you anyway.

A friend walks in when others around walk out… and will leave a footprint on your heart while in yout midst.
