Event cancelled for 2019, Chamber moves ahead on plans for 2020
With this year's Williams Station Day in Atmore being cancelled due to inclement weather, the Atmore Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to next year's event and is working to reschedule the Barktoberfest, a dog parade event that was scheduled to happen that Saturday also. Proceeds from the event go to a dog park the city hopes to develop.
Some people thought maybe the chamber planned to hold Williams Station Day this Saturday, but they don’t.
According to the chamber's Executive Director Emily Wilson, the chamber is looking forward to Williams Station Day 2020, set for the fourth Saturday in October.
“We are planning to move forward with 2020,” said Wilson. “Anyone who was a participant in 2019 is automatically grandfathered in. There will be no additional cost or paperwork.”
Wilson said that more than 128 vendors were planning to come this year, with more spaces available than ever before.
“With the number of vendors we have and will add to for 2020, we hope to leave an even bigger footprint next year,” said Wilson.
