Republic Services will do its last pickup of residential garbage in Flomaton on Monday, Nov. 11, and Waste Pro will then begin picking up curbside garbage Friday, Nov. 15.
Residential garbage service will then continue each Friday from Waste Pro and carts need to be placed curbside by 6 a.m. on Fridays to guarantee pickup.
According to the agreement signed by the town of Flomaton, Republic Services will pick up garbage and pick up its garbage carts on Nov. 11. New carts will be provided by Waste Pro on Nov. 11 and 12.
Under the new agreement, residential customers will see no increase in their garbage service which is $17.38 per month for one cart. Two carts will be billed at $26.65 and three carts will be billed at $32.86. People needing more than one cart should call Flomaton Town Hall at 251-296-2431.
Waste Pro will also begin serving businesses on its Friday pickup with one cart costing $27 per month, two carts costing $35 per month, three carts at $45 per month and four carts at $55 per month.
Businesses using carts need to contact town hall to switch to Waste Pro. The costs are only associated with the residential-size carts and does not apply to commercial accounts that use a dumpster.
