Leon Earl Jeter, 73, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, in Atmore.
Mr. Jeter was a native of Booneville, Ala. who had resided in Atmore for most of his life. He worked as a carpenter for Swift Lumber Co. with 20 years of Service and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Beauchamp officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. Eastside-Petty Chapel Funeral Home will be directing.
Mr. Jeter is survived by two sons, Joey (Brandy) Jeter and Todd Jeter, both of Atmore; three sisters, Sherry Buckhault of Atmore, Cheryl (Joe) Matthews of Repton, Ala. and Marilyn Peavy of Uriah, Ala.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Jeter was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Kathryn Hardy Jeter; his parents, Joe Jeter and Effie Cumbie; two brothers, Danny Jeter and Edwin Jeter; and one sister, Patsy Taylor.
