Jim “JB” Burl Day, 86, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, in Pensacola.
Mr. Day was a native of Huxford, Ala. who had resided in Century and then Brewton for the last 10 years. Retired from Champion Paper Mill with 40 years of service, he was a member of the Century Masonic Lodge #213, the Jay Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 208 and the Springhill Primitive Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mitch Herring and Bro. Dawson Stanaland officiating. Burial followed at Springhill Cemetery with Masonic Rites and Petty-Eastside Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Day is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Day of Brewton; one son, William Anthony Day of Century; one daughter, Lisa Day (Alvin) Ahn of Pensacola; one sister, Lottie Nell (Rex) Crews of Cantonment, Fla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Day was preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Johnson Day; his parents, Robert and Mary Day; and one brother, J.D. Day.
