James “Ed” Edward Howington, Jr., 59, of Brewton, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 after a brief illness.
Mr. Howington was born Feb. 12, 1060 in Escambia County, where he was a lifelong resident. I member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church, he was a former employee at the lab of Smurfit-Stone and enjoyed working with the Escambia County Auxillary Sheriff and Escambia County Rescue Department.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. James Aubrey Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Zion Hill Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mr. Howington is survived by two daughters, Amanda Howington and Patricia Emmons, both of Brewton; his mother, Lucille Hart Howington of Brewton; one brother, Daryl Howington of Brewton; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Howington was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Howington, Sr.
