George Walder Scogin, 84, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, in Pensacola following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Scogin grew up in Bay Minette, where he played football and was senior class president of Baldwin County High School. He began working for Thompson's Fine Fashions at age 11 and in the mid 60's, he became manager of Thompson's in Atmore, which he managed until he retired in the early 1990's. He later worked for Harold Allen Mobile Homes and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Atmore, where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon.
