Ira Randolph 'Randy' Welch

Ira Randolph “Randy” Welch, 85, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, at a healthcare facility in Pensacola.

Mr. Welch was born in Escambia County, Ala. and graduated from Flomaton High School. He retired after 24 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, having lived in Fort Walton, New York, Oklahoma, France, Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines and received many medals and awards for his outstanding service to his country. After retirement, he lived in Fort Walton many years before he moved to Pensacola and then Flomaton, and finally Country Place Senior Living in Brewton.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29, at the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Bro. James Peacock officiating. Burial, with full military honors, followed at Pineview Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Welch is survived by one brother, Horace “Cliff” (Linda) Welch of Winter Haven, Fla.; one niece, Vicki Welch of Winter Haven; and numerous other family members.

Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his wife, Faye G. Welch; two sons, Roy L. Welch and Donnie Ray Welch; two daughters, Wanda Faye Welch and Theresa Ann Welch; and his parents, Ray and Lillie Mae Welch.
