Howard Dewitt McGhee, Jr., 72, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020.
Mr. McGhee was born Sept. 13, 1948, in Atmore, Ala. and lived most of his life in the Clark and Escambia County areas. Owner and operator of Dynamic Cleaning Company, he was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and the Amith Baptist Church of Clark County.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the McCullough Christian Center with Bro. Joe White officiat- ing. Burial followed at the jud- son Cemetery with Petty- Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. McGhee is survived by his wife, Lila Overton McGhee of Frisco City, Ala.; 10 children, Lisa McGhee, Michelle (Mark) White and Malcolm “Bull” McGhee, all of Poarch, Ala., Joseph (J Ross) McGhee of Bay Minette and Jason (Kim) McGhee, Chad McGhee, John Day, Angela Wall, Amanda Rolin and Jamie (Sabrina) McGhee, all of Whatley, Ala.; eight sib- lings, Gary (Susie) Mcghee
and Mary (Dean) Boyette, both of Atmore and Gordon McGhee, Georgia Griffey, William “Boone” (Kristie) McGhee, Cyndi (Tony) Wright, Juanita Slate and Lena (Joe) White, all of Poarch; 32 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
Mr. McGhee was preceded in death by his second wife, Nancy McGhee; one son, Jim Day; his parents, Howard Dewitt, Sr. and Hattie Mae McGhee; one sister, Becky Norman; and four grandpar- ents, Dan and Lena McGhee and Buck and Luna Mae McGhee.
