Missoula Children's Theater seeking about 50 roles for performance
It's that time of year again for the Missoula Children's Theater to come to town and give local youngsters the chance to ham it up on stage.
The Brewton Council of the Arts presents the Missoula Children's Theater in this year's performance of The Emperor's New Clothes, a play that offers about 50 roles for students of all ages, although auditioning does not guarantee a role.
Auditions will be at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 20, at Coastal Alabama Community College's Woodfin Patterson Auditorium, located at 220 Alco Dr. The performance will take place at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25 at the auditorium.
Auditions will last two hours and is for students in grades K through 12th. Once given a role, participants should be prepared to be at practice each afternoon and night Monday, Jan. 20 through Friday, Jan. 24, between 3:30 and 8 p.m. Younger actors are usually finished by 5:30 p.m.
Participants are expected to arrive on time, have a snack or dinner to eat during the break around 5:30 p.m. daily and have a ride to pick them up.
Costumes are provided and actors are expected to learn their part and plan to be at the dress rehearsal most of the day and the performance on Saturday, Jan. 25.
Tickets will be sold at the door and are $10 for adults, $5 for students age 6 and up and $1 for children ages 4 and 5. Ages under 3 get in free.
