Charles Edward Boatwright, 69, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, in Atmore.
Mr. Boatwright was a native of Century, Fla. and former resident of Byrneville, Fla. who had resided in Atmore for the last six years. A veteran of the Desert Storm conflict, serving in the U.S. Army and the Alabama National Guard with 34 years of service, he was a member of the Poplar Dell Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 10, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral home with Bro. Buddy Williams officiating. Burial followed at Judson Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral home directing.
Mr. Boatwright is survived by his wife, Orbineze W. Boatwright of Atmore; one son, Charles “Chuck” Boatwright of Lexington, Ky.; two brothers, Billy Glenn (Diane) Boatwright of Byrneville and Henry Douglas Boatwright of Pensacola; five sisters, Glorie Jean (Ray) Lawson and Sue (Junior) Walston, both of Century, Judy (David) Tillery of Atmore, Margie Quick of East Brewton and Kathy (Donald) Walston of Pensacola; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Boatwright was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Glannie Pearl Boatwright; and one brother, Jerry Wayne Boatwright.
