Reservations now accepted for Brewton's Best Western

New motel set to open soon

On-line reservations are now being accepted for the new Best Western Inn and Suites in Brewton, which is scheduled to open at the end of February or sometimes in March.

Raj Parmar, interim general manager and liaison, said reservations are currently being accepted for dates after May 28 at Best Western's website and that date may be moved up depending on final inspections.

Parmar also said job applications for the new motel are being accepted at the Alabama Career Center in Brewton, which can be reached at 251-867-4376. Applications can also be requested by going to [email protected].

Located at 1115 Douglas Ave., the new Best Western will have 83 rooms that include five suites and four ADA certified rooms. It also features a conference room that can accommodate 150 people.

Parmar said the motel will have an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room and business center. Free hot breakfast will be available for guests and electronic electrical vehicle charging stations will also be available for guests.

He said currently the motel does not have a restaurant, but noted space is available for a possible addition in the future.

Brewton Mayor Yank Lovelace said the new motel is a positive step forward for the city.

"From the very start of my time as mayor, one goal we had was increased and improved lodging choices in town," Lovelace said. "After much work and investment and using some economic development tools available to Alabama cities, it is at hand at last. I have watched the transformation from my office over the past year and the Best Western will dazzle guests in our town."

Lovelace also said the city plans to host multi-day events in the coming months so people can spend time in Brewton, shop in the stores and check out other places in the city.

"I tell investors all the time that we have opportunities for development and Brewton will absolutely do all it can to help our retail and industrial partners thrive here," Lovelace said. "I congratulate the partners that invested in the hotel and look forward to many years of success for them."
