Harold “Doc” Samuel Sinrod, 90, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.
Dr. Sinrod was born June 28, 1929, and grew up in Washington, D.C. In 1947, he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School alongside classmates actor John Astin and tycoon Warren Buffet. Earning a degree from Georgetown University Dental School, he served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps from 1954 to 1957, interning at Walter Reed Army Hospital. He served as a captain and chief of the dental service and oral surgery in Munich, Germany. When he returned home, he continued practicing dentistry in the D.C. area until 1990, when he and his family relocated to Pensacola. He retired in 2013 after 59 years of practice.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Brewton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Henry Roberts officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Dr. Sinrod is survived by his wife, Allison Sinrod; his children, Lisa Sinrod (Mark) Brey, Eric (Carin) Sinrod, Keith (Linda) Sinrod, Lyle Sinrod (Peter) Walter, Holland (Reed) Williams, Smith (Harris) Diano and Margaret Leigh (Fabien) Sinrod Bar; and 10 grandchildren (and one on the way).
