James 'Jimmie' Pressley Carden

James “Jimmie” Pressley Carden, 80, of Flomaton, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 following a brief illness.

Mr. Carden was born July 17, 1939, in Escambia County, Ala. A graduate of Flomaton High School, he was the owner and operator of Carden Custom Built Homes and a member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Burnham officiating. Burial followed at Catawba Springs Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Carden is survived by his wife, Doris Marie Holt Carden of Flomaton; two daughters, Cathy (James) Grantham of Brewton and Brandy (Chris) White of Flomaton; one brother, Jack (Linda) Carden of Jay; two sisters, Bobby (Sonny) Chavers of Brewton and Linda Eddins of Opelika, Ala.; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Carden was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Carden and Elsie Ruth Carden.
